about

This is a medley of tunes. The first one is one of my favorite piece that Dwight Diller plays and he learned it from the Hammons Family. He taught it to me. The second one I heard in a concert of Dwight and Dave Bing, and Dave taught it to me. The last is the first tune I learned on banjo. It was in Miles Kraussen's Clawhammer Banjo book (I don't use the word clawhammer anymore, but that's what the book was called), and I learned it there. Also, Dwight plays it too and showed me a few variations. I also do some of my own variations.

I play this little medley in concerts often. On this recording I think you can tell I'm playing a bit fast and maybe less controlled but I think it gets the idea across. I was younger when I recorded this but I still love to play the last tune. It's my first tune and probably my favorite.
